Brent Bynum Field

Mr. Brent Bynum with his grandchildren at the Dedication

Brent Bynum Warrior Field Dedication

Mr. Bynum joined our school district 43 years ago in 1982. He began as a district substitute teacher, and in October of 1982 became a full time junior high school staff member. He has mentored, taught, coached, and toughened up more students than most of us have ever even known. As this project was being built, it was entertaining to hear the stories from alumni students “His Puppies” who were once under the Mr. Bynum wing of protection. Stories of firewood chopping, running through goat heads and not being able to complain about it, to being held accountable both on the field and off, gave me a sense of pride and understanding why this project was so important to this special community. Mr. Bynum is certainly a staple here in Hickman, but more importantly, he his an exceptional educator who has dedicated his entire career and more than half of his life to changing the lives of students for the better. I am more than honored to have the privilege to dedicate the Brent Bynum Warrior Field to Mr. Bynum on this day, January 10, 2025.
